I relax in my living room to sounds of Japanese Saturday morning cartoons and the *click click* of an old man pruning in his garden outside my window.

I just saw another mameshiba commercial on tv. At a French restaurant, a mameshiba bids bonjour from a woman's pea soup. "Ne, shiteiru?" To my dismay, I couldn't figure out what he said to her.

But I did understand a children's show called Go-Chan in which Go-chan, a kindergartner was at school when a bunch of the other kids asked his teacher what she liked better, melon or strawberry. She then asked Go-chan, who of course didn't know. So he was very worried that if he chose one without thinking about it enough, then he might be a liar. He asked his mother what happens when you tell a lie, and she told him A ROBBER COMES AND STEALS YOU! (Jackles, you'll probably tell this to your kids, won't you?) Of course, by his fantastic judgment, he decided that he'd better become a robber before a robber comes after him (great logic!). The rest of the show was devoted to him trying to steal various things but getting foiled by adults who thought his intentions were pure. So finally, after failing to steal a basket of oranges, eggs from a bird's nest, and a suitcase on the street, he came home for lunch and began to cry. His mother was all, "What's wrong, sweetie? Here, have some melon!" At which point, he decided he liked melon better, and all was right in the world!

...well, except for the fact that this kid thinks larceny is a legitimate lifestyle, but that doesn't matter, right?

*loaded pause of amazement*

They justed showed the Algorithm March again on Pythagoras Switch, a Japanese children's show. I've seen it before, but it amazes me every time.

Watch the video on this page, the march I'm referring to is from 2:00 until 4:20.

I'm very inspired to do something like this in my English classes. Even better if I can make my own dance with useful English vocabulary so it actually makes sense for them to memorize the song. If anyone wants to throw out any suggestions, or even help with other fun American/English class activities, please let me know! :D
